Candace Bryan is a freelance writer based in New York City by way of Memphis, Tennessee. She attended St. John's College in Annapolis, where she studied philosophy, and after graduation she moved to the Upper East Side.
These days you’ll find her wondering why Malcolm X never spoke at the New School, admitting she wears makeup even though she hates it, and having no regrets about gutting a fish even though she’s vegan now. That's just how she rolls.
When she’s not writing, Candace spends her time enjoying Nat King Cole, explaining the proper use of the subjunctive, and watching elephant documentaries.
